The limited covered area of the Manual Antonio National Park of only six hundred and eighty two hectares has never come between the park and its ability to impress. Within its little space it encompasses all that is explicitly beautiful in the natural world be it in terms of water bodies or forests. It is hard to imagine the sheer beauty it exudes all through, rarely found in any other part of the world. The four white and gray sandy beaches of the names of Espadilla Sur, Manuel Antonio, Escondido, and Playita can easily rank in the same level as some of the best beaches in the world. Surrounded by dense and green vegetation, these beaches are perfect holiday spots for your family to have the best time. Added to this is the beach Manuel Antonio which is home to a small yet pretty coral reef enhancing the beauty of the place and this is separated from the Espadilla Sur by a little strip of sand. In the waters surrounding these two beaches, you will find thousands of minnow and crayfish. The beach of Manuel Antonio also has turtle traps that date back several thousands of years and the shores are frequented by the famous Olive ridley and green turtles.
But the main attraction of the Manual Antonio National Park is the wild life which can be easily viewed by walking through the wide numbers of trails, taking you to the remotest of the corners of the park where on some lucky days, you can come across the river otters, pacas, ocelots, spectacled caimans and marmosets. But most of the wilderness is inhabited by the sloths, tiny species of crabs, small squirrel monkeys which number about 350 in the park and 500 on the outer boundaries of the park, and also white faces monkeys which stay on the tree tops, observing you at all times to play with you and steal something when you least expect it!
If this is not enough for you, then you can get your self immersed in the numerous activities available at the Manual Antonio National Park such as fishing, kayaking, horse riding, whitewater rafting and ocean cruising. The intervention of the tourists has however endangered the species inhabiting especially the monkeys and hence numerous steps are being taken by the authority to restore ecological balance.
