Playa Avellana is a rocky beach in Guanacaste located in the north of Playa Negara. The rocky coast is 2 km and is good for surfers. You can access Playa Avellanas from Santa Cuz or from Villa Real.
Playa Azul is another beautiful Costa Rican beach in Guanacaste lying to the west of Playa Samara. Visit the beach in the rainy season to see how the landscape blooms with the fresh downpours.
Playa Barco Quebrado is an interesting beach in Guanacaste. From Playa Garza it is 9 km away. This petite beach with moderate waves and grey sands are adorned by cliffs on each end.
Playa Camaronal is a lovely beach in Guanacaste. From the lips of Oro it extends to Point Caramonal cliffs in the southeast. The beach has grayish sand and the waves are strong. This is the ideal place for camping and some fishing.
The panorama from the beach includes volcanic hills with verdant greenery. Trees include white cotton, balsa wood, espave, canelo, mahogany, terciopelo, red berry, gonzalo alves, yellow cortez, spiny cedar, stinking toe, bastard cedar, wild plum, gumbo-limbo, madero negro and other trees. The ridley turtles and leatherback turtles lay eggs here. Other attractions are the Vuelta del Sur Beach lying on the other face of River Oro where you will get to see chitons, flatworms, snails, nerites, crabs and shore limpets here. Playa Quizales in Puntarenas is grey sand small beach. Located amidst a serene setting it is located near Playa Tambor. Come here to get the feel of the much desired serenity in the beach.
